Mark R. Thorson,
owner of Advanced Foam & Coatings was born in
St. Cloud, Minnesota in 1959. Married and has a
lovely family with his wife Tatjana and four
children. Mark and his family moved to San Diego
in 1989 and learned the roofing business while
working with Excel Realty Trust, Inc. as the
National Facilities Manager.
Mark has over 20 years experience in commercial
property maintenance which gave him a professional
expertise in understanding the problems and
solutions associated with roofing and roofing
problems and how to best solve them.
Polyurethane
foam and coatings was the solution to the many
problems of the over 200 buildings and properties
that were his responsibility while with Excel.
That experience in solving this huge projects
problems was his introduction to the great
potential in using polyurethane foam as a business
opportunity.
Mark started Advanced Foam & Coatings in
1994 and has served clients in the San Diego area.
He has personally applied over 2 million sq. ft.
of polyurethane foam coating.
